Hey, what IS that thing?
An Electronic Wind Instrument, or EWI, is a device which allows a musician to use breath, bite pressure and various touch-sensitive controls to send signals to one or more MIDI synthesizers, thereby producing a musical performance. Oh, and it's incredibly fun to play and sounds amazingly cool. :-)I recently had the privilege of playing EWI on "La Da Da", one of the songs on the latest CD from Crossed Hearts.
